Meet The Builder Who Puts A Little Bit Of Everything Into His Tiny Home

BUILDERS in calicut What you see here is a home that was designed and constructed by a young. Talented builder who has found success in the small house movement. I’m more than happy to tell you how he went about his business of building the charming home you are now looking at.
“Second life” is the way I’d like to describe Jonathon Johnston, a great friend and builder. In addition to being my best man at my wedding five years ago. We’ve been kicking around ideas for his tiny home on wheels for over two years now.
Last year, building and renovating became a passion for Joe Hoobejian. He fell in love with the process of creating and his ultimate goal was to make his love for it a career. After he spent a decade working as an accountant, he wanted to build his own home — but he didn’t want to pay big bucks for a custom built home or some newfangled construction business.
The idea of living in your own home can be intoxicating. But it’s not all fun and games. Like any project, it takes time and sweat equity to complete. There are a lot of little details that can take months to learn before you even get around to putting them into practice. Even more important than all the little things, is what I like to call the big picture.
Meet Brandon. The builder who puts a little bit of everything into his tiny home. When it comes to the subject of tiny houses, Brandon is someone you don’t want to miss. From apartments to full-sized homes, he’s done it all.
I’ve never lived in a tiny home. But you might be surprised how much of a difference that makes.

When it comes to the actual construction, he’s really the only one who can do it all. He saw a need for a better way to build tiny homes and created Prudent Pines. The company is run by two family members, who are in charge of everything from design through installation and even customer support.
In the months before my first tiny house, I began researching what it would be like to live in such a small space. As I dug into this new way of life, I couldn’t help but think these tiny homes are more than just another affordable housing option. They are lifestyle solutions for people who want to live in a simpler, easier and healthier way of life.
We’ve met a lot of builders at Tiny HOMES, as we’re all about tiny homes. Let’s spend some time with one builder who put a little bit of everything into his earthbag house:

Note From A Man Who Is Building A Tiny Home In His Backyard
I’ve been building a tiny home in my backyard for a year now. It’s not quite done yet, but I thought I’d share some of the things that have helped me along the way.
First off, if you’re thinking about building your own tiny home, I highly recommend starting with an existing structure that has already been designed and constructed. There are all kinds of reasons for this (it’s cheaper and faster, for one) but the main reason is that it gives you access to all sorts of information and resources that would be nearly impossible to find otherwise. For example:
If you want to save even more money, use my plans as a starting point (website link above). They’re based on my experience building three tiny homes over several years and are written specifically for people who aren’t experienced builders or designers; they’re meant to help newbie
I am building a tiny home in my backyard. I’m not a professional builder, just a guy who likes to build things.
The second thing you need to know about me is that I have never built anything before. I am an engineer by trade but the last time I built anything was when I was in college. That was over 20 years ago now so this is going to be fun!
I hope to share some of my experiences as well as some tips and tricks along the way that might help you decide if it’s something worth pursuing too.

Meet the Man Who Makes A Tiny, Energy-Efficient Home Out of Everything He Finds
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. That’s exactly what happened when Mike Carton decided to build his tiny home from salvaged materials he found in the woods.
A lifelong woodworker, Carton had spent years making furniture and other projects out of wood. He’d also built a few houses using salvaged materials, but this was his first time building a house entirely out of secondhand material.
But after a few months of searching for old, unwanted items around his property, he found just what he needed: old framing lumber and plywood that were perfect for building his new tiny home.
Once he had enough supplies together, Carton set up shop in his backyard and began building the house himself. The process took him about two months to complete, but it wasn’t long before he realised how much fun it was going to be living in a tiny home like this one.
