Dark circles treatment- Do’s and Don’ts

Dark circles have certainly become a menace in today’s lifestyle and can haunt both men and women. Dark circles are the dark discoloration of the skin under the eyes. When blood vessels present underneath the skin’s surface around the eyes get damaged, then blood particles leak out from the capillaries making the vessels visible through the skin. This can result in the appearance of discoloration or blemishes around the eyes. By following a few dark circle tips, you can get rid of these dark circles easily.
Causes of dark circles-
Dark circles treatment under the eyes refer to a collection of skin color discolorations around the eyes. So, if you see darker discoloration on lighter parts of your skin, that’s what we call the dark circle or dark dot formation. If a person uses too much makeup then it causes dark circles as well. Further one can get affected by factors like smoking, long working hours in front of computer screens, late-night parties, improper rest, and many more.
Some might think that the black or dark circles happen only because of genetics or illness. You will be surprised to know that that is just not true. Dark circles are mostly caused by lifestyle changes, stress, and double eyelid weight.
Do’s
- Workout regularly and exercise
- Drink 8 glasses of water a day
- Eat plenty of fruits or vegetables
- Take a well-balanced diet rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, and iron.

- Use cold compresses like cold clothes or tea bags to soothe the skin

- Take a break after doing prolonged working on the computer
Don’ts
- Take excess salt as it can increase puffiness under the eye
- Take eat sugary candies or too many sweets
- Consume too much tea or coffee as it causes dehydration
- Be awake until late at night
Some tips for dark circles to treat your dark circles-
Coldwater-
You might have heard this a million times but let me repeat it one more time: cold water helps to improve dark circles around your eyes. You can let cold water run down your face or use ice cubes wrapped in a towel.
Rosewater-
There is a simple home remedy that can help remove dark circles under your eyes. You just need to mix rose water with some cotton and place them on your eyelids. This process will moisturize and cool the area around your eyes and help you get rid of the dark circles.
Lemon juice-
Dark circles around the eyes are a common problem these days. This is not only because of working late nights but also from unclean water and air which cause the skin and eyes to become dehydrated. Blemishes can be easily removed by applying the juice of fresh lemons to affected areas.
Cucumber-
Cut the cucumber into 2 pieces and place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Place it on your eyelids for about 10 minutes and then wash your face with water. Cucumber acts as the best astringent and has skin-lightening agents too.
Aloe vera-
A lot of us experience puffy eyes and dark circles. To reduce it, you can use a small amount of aloe vera gel under the eyes to soothe and protect the skin under the eyes. The skin in that area is particularly delicate, so be careful.
Yoga and meditation–
As we all know, Yoga and meditation are both very important and beneficial for a healthy body and mind. When you perform yoga regularly, it will not just relax your body, but will also even out your sleep cycle and bring a fresh look to your face by removing dark circles under the eyes.
